The arrival

No matter where you come from, whether from Lisbon (360km), from Porto (180km), or by car from the Spanish border (Vilar Formoso 70km), one has to come via the Highway 25 (A25), that connects Aveiro at the coast to Vilar Formoso at the spanish border. Between Viseu and Guarda you will find the exit to Fornos de Algodres, at which point you will leave the highway. You will enter the city centre of Fornos and right behind the government building (Camara Municipal – impossible to miss) you turn right heading into the direction of Matança (There is a sign indicating Matança). This road will take you up above Fornos through the village of Infias. Continue on for 10 minutes, you will go through Rancosinho and Furtado until you reach Matança. First thing you will see when you enter Matança is a tennis court on the left hand side, on the other side of the road you will see our first wooden sign indicating the turn off for Quinta do Minheiro.

Turn right and follow approximately 1.5 km to the next wooden signs which will lead you to Quinta do Mineiro.
